Star Tuition is lead by Katie Manning and prides itself on personalised, tailored tuition which
not only enables children to excel academically, but allows children to enjoy learning and
develop life skills.
About Katie:
Katie has been teaching in a West London secondary school for the past two years, having also taught in both primary and secondary schools in the North-East of England, France, Germany, the Czech Republic and Costa Rica.
Katie has an up-to-date CRB check.
Teaching Qualifications:
* MA (Hons) University of Edinburgh in French, with additional modules in Italian, European Cinema and Medieval Literature
* European Diploma in German Language and Culture- University of Newcastle
* PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate of Education) with Modern Foreign Languages at Durham University
* TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate, with modules in teaching grammar and teaching Business English
Musical Background:
Katie is a keen musician and qualified singing teacher, with experience in conducting ensembles and leading sectional rehearsals. She was a former member of the National Youth Choir of Great Britiain, Edinburgh University Chamber Choir, Edinburgh Camerata, Edinburgh Symphony Baroque and Northern Spirit Singers, based in Durham. She has appeared on the BBC and national radio in her early singing career. Katie has played piano since the age of 5, and also plays the clarinet and alto saxophone.
